Design Interventions
- Create an app as an ‘on-the-go’ resource for consumers to use when they are making purchase decisions. It will give consumers a quick overview of the product’s sustainability. Include a rating system for quick evaluations, and reviews from other users to create a community of people.
- Create a loyalty system that rewards consumers for purchasing from sustainable brands and signing up their friends with vouchers and coupons to spend on these brands. Utilise social media to create an online community.
- Change consumers perceptions of unsustainable brands by utilizing brand ambassadors on social media to pledge towards sustainability.
By combining these three potential interventions, we are going to create an app that makes researching the backgrounds and sustainability of brands easier and more attainable for the consumer to make informed choices.
This will involve a rating system of recyclability, testing on animals, parabens etc and helps consumers get a quick overview if the brand aligns with their values. This might also contain reviews from other users of the product quality etc.
The app could incorporate brand ambassadors and instagram types to promote a sustainable way of living with a newsfeed type section with featured videos and images.
