Creative Futures 2016 live blog: That’s all folks!

We’ve finished our live blog coverage of our Creative Futures 2016 event. The week has flown by and we’ve been busy meeting and interviewing guest speakers from the creative industries.

Thank you to all of our hard working live blogging team and to the organisers of this inspiring event, including our careers team and Zone Glyndwr. It has been a whirlwind of activity, with tips and advice on working in various careers in the creative industries shared by experienced professionals. It is an event which Wrexham Glyndwr University should be justifiably proud of.

We will be uploading some further blog posts from our students over the coming week, reflecting on the event and what we got out of it, but that’s it as far as our live blog coverage goes.

Creative Futures 2016: Diversity in news

Vidar Hjardeng MBE from ITV gave a fascinating talk on diversity in news as part of Creative Futures 2016.

Vidar spoke with great passion for his subject area of diversity and also took time out to hold a Q and A with the audience at Wrexham Glyndwr. One audience member asked him what his proudest moment in his career in diversity had been.

He said: “Actually, it is the fact that now diversity is an integral part of the ITV strategy. It’s not an add on.”
