Birds of a Feather

To make this is image, I firstly turned the image black and then went to the curves. Drawing an inverted v, this created solarisation effect but a Gian, using a new layer of curves is slightly adjusted to make it darker round the edges and making it more surreal.

Typology
For my typology I decided to use books. I marked a place on the background so all I had to do was swap the subject in and out.
I used one studio light on the subjects with a soft box attached. I used photoshop to put all the images onto one sheet as seen above.
For me, Typology is very interesting and there are so many different things you can shoot, it is a very wide technique. I will definitely use it again and see what different subjects I can shoot.
Zoom Exercise
I reduced the shutter speed, placed the camera on a tripod and zoomed in with the lens as the shutter was open. This is a very interesting and fun technique which can produce amazing end results (in my opinion)
I would definitely use this technique again and shoot different subjects.
Toning
This is my toning effect using my photograph of Fraser Small.
I edited this image in photoshop through using the hue and saturation tool. I played about with this until I reached the final image (above) and I am pleased with the result.
This was easy enough to do on photoshop however in the darkroom, using proper film prints is much harder and more time consuming. I’m not sure if I would use this technique again as, for me, it is to very interesting.
Shutter Speed
This is my panning image which uses the shutter speed technique. I really enjoyed doing this and enjoy taking panning shots as the blurred background makes for a very interesting effect.
