May 2019 Event at Social House in Lake Worth
MAY 2019 EVENT AT SOCIAL HOUSE WITH SPEAKER WILLIAM WATERS.
What does it mean to preserve? How do you preserve your community? How do you preserve your creativity, your families, your relationships, architecture, and environment around you? How can YOU help preserve the present for the future generations that come after us? We were left to ponder some deep thoughts after May's event on the global theme of Preserve. Hosted at the amazing co-working space Social House in Lake Worth Beach our committed community of morning people were greeted with fresh coffee or cold brew from Made Coffee, a May event partner who has been a big supporter of CreativeMornings chapters across the state from St. Pete to Miami! Before everyone settled in our activities director, Meghan McKenna took us through an exciting Rock, Paper, Scissors showdown! The competition was fierce, and there were a few confused looks "Wait, paper covers rock or does rock beat paper?" as we drew down to the final two. Scissors for the win! Congrats to the winner who was gifted a $10 gift card to Subculture Coffee. After the fun and games, William Waters, Director of Community Sustainability for Lake Worth Beach took us on an insightful look into the history and future of Lake Worth. An eclectic city filled with artists, mom and pop shops, and rich architecture that has had its share of ups and downs, but has preserved its charming nature despite all the twists and turns. William invited our audience to be a part of the future preservation Lake Worth, also lovingly referred to as "Lake Worth Weird" sharing with us that Lake Worth embraces everybody. "We don't care who you are or where you came from, just be a good productive member of our community and help us turn it around." We are grateful to each one of you that attend a CreativeMorning Palm Beach event each month and help us preserve this community. Thanks to our amazing long-term local partners Subculture, Celsius, BNotes, and Human Capital Group for their continued support. Hugs and High-fives to Social House for being such gracious hosts and Made Coffee for helping us stay chill in the Florida heat this month. -- Big thanks to CMPB host Brandyce for the awesomely detailed write-up this month!
