Very excited to present my piece for the @chnt-events gift exchange, forrrrrr.....

(symbolism yapping under the cut!! put a lot of thought into it heheh)

Bird symbolism!! You said you love it and I do as well... Here I kind of wanted to represent how Sydney and Jedidiah used to be super close, but eventually kind of started drifting apart; But they can never get too far from each other, even when they're trying to pull away, whether they just keep coming back to each other or if it's due to circumstances, which is kind of what the red string keeping the birds from flying too far away from each other was meant to represent.

I also decided to throw in one of my favorite kinds of symbolism, which is flower symbolism!! Even though it's not really present in the podcast, I've always kind of associated Sydney and Jedidiah with hyacinths, which represent apologizing and wanting forgiveness. So that's what the flowers along the bottom are!

(I'm not super experienced with drawing birds or flowers haha, hope they look decent)

Aside from that, I also put some thought into the characters' body language; I tried to make it look like Jedidiah was gripping Sydney's hand tightly, while it hangs limp in his, like Sydney's not really holding it back. Though Jedidiah's holding on desperately to Sydney, he's still looking away, his true attention focused somewhere else (his project, whatever that is). And though Sydney, wanting freedom, is not holding on, he can't help but look back at Jedidiah anyway.

Hope you enjoy!! I admit I procrastinated this quite a bit but I'm glad I got it done in time. And I think it turned out pretty good!

When listening to 59 I was hit with the vision for this drawing like a lightning bolt and I couldn't not make it ahaha

Hope the letters are legible. It was very hard to get them visible at all

You should have seen my hands after drawing this. Smudged completely black all along the side. Didn't take a photo but I really should have, it was crazy
