When my mind is a mess I let it stand by and focus on what's physical, cleaning and reorganizing the place by divisions, things for study, clothes, etc... then subdivisions, for what weather is this garment? more focus on the five senses and the process, in how you chew and how does it taste and... lots of tea (mint is my favorite in case you blast-off to take me on a date :D), anyway, isn't creativity like a process your brain goes through after a focused working period and naps or sleep?
Oh believe me, I tried putting my mind into my chores - it got to the point I even procratinate using chores.
But I'll admit - thanks to laundry day, I get to cook up more angsts so :D hope it'll be interesting.
And creativity can come in a lot of forms. Maybe the focused/optimal regime of sleep and working period work for most people but I can imagine some struggling to get it if it gets too mundane.
I will admit tho - I get super brain peppy after a good night's sleep so thank you Anon for the tip!
