I have an important question: When you made the designs for the lamias, did you have to ask the creators of the AU's for permission (Such as Underswap for example) to use their Sans and Papyrus and turn them into lamias?
*For the lamia bittybones (and most of my writing), I work with AUs that are community property because the creator specifically gave them to the community or because they exist as a fan-created concept with no actual singular creator. I know one of the Underfell creators is still around, but since I began creating for the fandom, Underswap and Underfell had been given to the community by their creators.
*That said, I tend to use a more fanon version of Underswap than the original, and my “Swapfell” designs are based entirely on fanon concepts that existed when I joined the fandom before the KH Swapfell/fellswap designation debate started. The reason for this is that using a “community owned” AU allows for more creative freedom.
*If I wanted to use a character from an active AU or an AU that the creator had not released to the fandom, I would definitely 1) ask permission to use that character (and respect the creator if they said no) and 2) do my research to make sure I’m portraying the character correctly.
