The hype surrounding this album was immense and so difficult to describe to the younger generatiins. I've not experienced anything like it since. I remember Radio 1 (Steve Lamaq I think) playing a few songs before release and then getting blocked by the band as they didn't put enough jingles over the songs to prevent bootleggers just ripping them off the radio. Then the BBC aired the Right Here, Right Now documentary the night before amd it was all over the news. I queued outside my local HMV and was one of the 424,000 who bought the album on the first day! Maybe it was over produced but it's still one of my favourites and really was the end of an era. Great memories! 👍
