Our experience at the Craft Beer Tasting by Veritage Miami was so much fun and delicious.

Veritage Miami is part of Veritage, a series of celebrations of wine, food, and philanthropy” http://veritagemiami.com/about/
With a variety of over 20 different local, regional, and national craft breweries, the guests had the chance to try them all and it was so good!
As soon as we enter to this wonderful place in Wynwood Wall, I fell in love with the circus decorations, the nice music from a DJ mixing live for us, and the weather was perfect to walk around, mingle and enjoy this amazing event.
All of these complimented by delicious bites from wonderful South Florida Restaurants, like; Fufi Empanadas, KYU Miami, My ceviche, Intercontinental Hotel, Zuuk, Argyle Coffee Roasters
Cao Chocolates, Gusto RistoBar, Harry’s
Health-Ade Kombucha, J’s Delectables,Krave Jerky,R House,
Shake Shack Miami Beach, South Pointe Tavern, Two Chefs, Wingstop Food Truck, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, Wynwood Parlor
All of the guests received upon arrival a green token and we used it to cast our vote in which we thought it was the best bite.
At the end of the night the winner chosen by all of us was:
KYU Miami with their amazing, crispy, deliciously seasoned fried chicken.
Music was playing the entire time, by a marching band, a Dj, and a band playing live in the courtyard.
I’m glad I was able to be part of such a nice event.
Thank you!

Knee Deep Fall Over Juice Simtra, 11.25% abv Triple IPA
The sun is playing a particularly mischievous game of hide and seek with the help of a handful of cheeky clouds when I settled down to open this rather bland lookin' bottle from a Californian brewery rarely seen on these shores. The name "Simtra" held a world of promise though. Simcoe and Citra. Hop elite (don't tell the other hops I said that). The indicated figures then drew forth a crooked smile, the right side of 11% boozy bits by volume and 131 whole bitter points! If it really wanted to it could probl'y send off a coupon and claim a toaster or somethin'.
I popped the cap and poured the gorgeous marshmallow topped rusty marmelade coloured liquid into my glass and took a great nose full. If you took a few oranges, a grapefruit, a whole pine bough, a carton of tropical fruit juice, and a splash of rum then blended it all together and snorted it through a straw (srsly good fun btw, y'all should try it) it may be similar to this.
From the aroma (and the sometimes slightly confusing "Triple IPA" tag) I was expecting a bit of a hop bomb and it really didn't disappoint. Imagine sticking your face over the business end of one of those comical gramophone barreled blunderbusses you see in old English period comedy flicks just as it goes off, thing is it'd been loaded with all kindsa lovely stuff instead of ball bearings and nails and fox poo. There's orange flavoured toffee, peach and mango cobbler, candied citrus zest, and pine needles all blasting you in the face and it's bloody marvelous!
Some beers grouped as triple IPA's come very close to American barley wine territory, but not this one, this is most definitely an IPA. The malt's there don't get me wrong, it's caramel covered biscuit goodness offers support where it's needed with depth and balance in the middle, but it's those intense and oh so sexy hops that are the stars. They infuse a mouth coating, intensely fruity and resinous quality and leave their mark long after the beer's gone down with a palate crushing bitterness. It's full, chewy, and dry and dangerously easy to drink with that booze feeling far less than stated, at least 'til you try to stand up after the first glass or attempt to post a pic of it to Instagram and realise your fingers have turned to rubber. I'm a big fan though I'll readily admit it ain't for everyone. If, however, you dream of hops and get all jittery without a regular lupulin fix, get some of this down your neck. Cheers!
Wild Beer / Beavertown Rubus Maximus, 5.7% abv
Somerset's a funny old place. Turns out that beer lives wild there, and the straw chewing farmer boys at Wild Beer spend their days chasing the tricky little bottles of joy around the fields and meadows, catching what they can with nets and doin' all sorta weird and perverted things with 'em 'till they're happy enough to slap a label on and sell 'em. The pretty bottle you see before you is a particularly twisted experiment, a wild beer / beaver mutation created with the help of London's rodent bothering, Beavertown brewery.
It's actually a fruit beer brewed with nine different grains, packed with raspberries and a good whack of long pepper, and fermented with wild yeast. These guys also chucked a barrel full of sour beer into the mix, jus' fer fun. I have to say I'm a little reluctant to break into that lovely wax seal, but after a whole couple of seconds I'm good.
A gorgeous ruby red floods from the bottle like a hundred thousand raspberries sacrificed themselves in an orgy of juice letting. Aromas of tart raspberry coulis, sweet vanilla, and earthy wood tease and tickle my hooter. I take a sip. It's like raspberry jam on toast sprinkled with raspberry sherbert and black pepper and dunked in a glass of red wine vinegar. There's a sumptuous juiciness developing into a crisp, light and dry feel, the finish is lingering and pleasantly tart.
I'm impressed, this is a tasty a wild mutant beaver as I've had... There's a nice balance of restrained sweet and sour with plenty of fruit and faint hints of spice, it's delicious and quite wonderfully refreshing. A fine drink for a warm and sunny evening and I'm sorry to see it go. If you like fruit beers, if you like sours, and if you can find it, give it a try. Cheers!
