when people tell me I'm not pronouncing something correctly because it's not the way they were taught to say it. Be it an Indian/South Asian or other non-West Indian person telling me the "correct" way of saying something. Not understanding the evolution of language, and different groups of people coming together to make their own languages. So, Caribbean folks are forced to internalize their languages when moving abroad out of fear of being bullied or policed for the way they speak, and learn to code switch.
