I've had like a minor theory for a really long time, more of a headcannon really, about Jou's crest.
Jou's crest is usually depicted as grey, and I've seen some people interpret it as silver. And even tho the wiki says that when Ikkakumon evolves to Zudomon, Jou's digivice turns dark grey, but c'mon, we all know it's black.
Which, yknow, is understandable, it's easy to represent the other colours on a monotone background, but not Jou's.
But after seeing To Sora, my theory has only strengthened because, there's no grey or black flowers to represent Jou's crest, or at least, any black ones wouldn't look nice.
So she uses a white blossom branch.
My theory is that while usually represented as grey, Jou's crest isn't actually grey. It's monochrome.
Less grey, and more "the grey area".
Like how in 02 when he explains to Iori why sometimes it's ok to lie, if it helps people. He points out that you there's no such thing as morally White all the time. Just so long as you always try to do the right thing, even if it's in the grey area.
Isn't that sort of what his crest means, too?
