Beautiful Villas In Hersonissos Area

The villas in hersonissos are placed in a city of great importance and history. Its roots go back many centuries, at the Hellenistic - Roman & Early Byzantine period. Then, it experienced enormous prosperity and growth. It was considered to be a port of utmost importance. Due to the special formation of the landscape it provided a unique place of security for the incoming ships of the time. It used to be the harbour of Lyttos, another big city. The villas in hersonissos offer the guests the possibility to experience amazing moments of peace, luxury and serenity and at the same time to be at a very close distance at the vivid centre of the town. Depending on the mood and choice, they can either relax and enjoy the luxury or stroll at the busy and picturesque alleys, where they can find entertainment options for every taste. Another great thing about the area is that it is full of sights of great archaeological and cultural interest. Near the villas in hersonissos there is the ancient theatre of Hersonissos which was built in the 1st BC. century. It had a length of 83m. and it was 30m wide. Unfortunately, it suffered extensive damage in the beginning of the 19th century, when the inhabitants took many of its stones in order to use them as raw material for building their houses.
