"Wow! Thanks for building me this wooden path! It makes it so much easier to get to my dirt!" #mydirt
Hello! I previously stopped using tumblr around...2019 or so? But I'm rebooting my old blog to yap about my writing and engage more with fandom. The only other social media I have is for personal use and not a great space for me to yap about gay cowboys and polygamous X-Men so here I am.
My multi-chapter works/series:
Identity Beyond the Grave (RDR2): A Charles Smith POV "retelling" of the events of the game where he and Arthur's relationship began in Colter. Written both as 1) an excuse for me to FINALLY finish a full play-through for the second time after years of getting sad/anxious and quitting once the gang reaches Shady Belle and 2) a love letter to what may be my favorite game of all time. Currently has most of my attention!
Dogs on Main Street (RDR2): My modern-ish (90s) Charthur au where the "gang" run the local feed store in Valentine.
Man in Middle-verse (X-Men): Series of fics about Logan Howlett, Scott Summers, and Jean Grey becoming a poly couple shortly after Scott and Jean get married.
Ain't No Sin to be Glad You're Alive (X-Men/Deadpool): My take on the Worst Wolverine trying to reconnect with the X-Men in Deadpool's universe. I want to write more of this one but the very nature of the plot requires me to need to spend some extra time learning how to write the other X-Men and I haven't devoted the time to it yet. But trust that this one is still cooking in the back of my mind.
Lastly, obligatory dog pic/full version of my pfp down below. This is Cricket, she is the light of my life.
if you insist on bringing it places so long as no one actively tells you not to, can you at least be genuinely ashamed instead of thinking it's teehee quirky or cute.
I hope your dog runs away and gets adopted by a better owner.
My first anon hate!! 🖤
I don't think it's quirky or cute. I think my dog is my friend and I like having her with me when I can. She is not a service dog, but she does help with my anxiety and makes me happy. I think she is pretty well-behaved and I try to be respectful that not everone wants a dog near them, and so I keep her close unless someone shows obvious interest and then I ask if they'd like to interact with her before letting her approach.
(She is even trained to jump into my arms so I can hold her if we're in a situation where stepping aside doesn't give strangers much space)
If I'm going somewhere that I know is dog friendly, but I also know I'm going to be really busy (have several things to get, know my hands will be full, know that it's going to be crowded, etc), then I don't bring her. I run most errands in the morning when places are quieter, but I still always give others distance when I can.
I never bring her places I know are NOT dog friendly, and I am in total agreement with you that people need to quit slapping service dog vests on their animals and bringing them into grocery stores. And people that have dogs that AREN'T well behaved or that get stressed in those sorts of environments need to leave them at home. (Or at least I hope that's what your argument here is)
But I'm sorry anon that you apparently don't get the same dopamine hit I do from seeing a good boy or girl out in public, in places where they are allowed. I hope you can find more joy in your heart for little critters.

When I said I needed a new lab assistant, this isn't what I meant.
How am I supposed to write under these conditions?
