EARTHQUAKE D<
They haven't been married that long. Four months, eight days. She's been keeping track.
When he comes home, she's curled up on the couch, cheeks tear-stained and breathing evenly. It's hard to tell if she'd been dozing or just laying there, but she sits up when he opens the door.
She stammers through the news, almost erupting into sobs again. A baby. They were going to have a baby. Her face betrays her terror, and she stands to fling herself into his arms.
Four months later, she miscarries.
They were twins.
