You’re not free until the judge says you are, and you’ll be saying goodbye to you collateral and possibly even your freedom if you run. Just face the judgment of your crimes, because there aren’t any sarlacc pits to save you from the bounty hunters whole come after you if you don’t.

Don’t Make Criminal Defendants Victims

Don’t make criminal defendants victims; make them responsible.

The difficulty with the proposed bail reform is that we're safeguarding the rights of prisoners who are detained because they committed a crime.

What's missing is that we're releasing criminal defendants without requiring some level of responsibility from those who broke the law, regardless of whether they're rich or poor.

That's what the bail system and the bail bond industry does: we allow those who aren't dangerous and those who won't skip bail the chance to get out of jail, but by requiring them to post bail, we demand some responsibility from them, too. At the very least, they should go through the court process to be found either innocent or guilty.

Otherwise, people won't think too much about committing misdemeanors, and commit the same crimes over and over again.
