honestly, that's not too absurd a name for someone nonbinary.
...so, no beret, eh?
* Certainly not.

daimon… are you—
(a hand pushes to rest on a shoulder. the shoulder, and the body attached, flinches from the hand and takes a hasty step away. the person seems to realize what is happening, and settles themself.)
…that was. intense.
do you want to take a second in my room?
…
(they attempt to take the other’s hand. the person pulls their arm into themself and asks them to stop. their voice is shaken; unsteady.)

Frisk.
Oh. Frisk.
..
I am - fine.
… If you wish.
No — don’t- don’t. Please.

hey. ask frisk if they're sad about how their obligations render you incapable of living a nornal life. do it
* I have no need for a normal life.
* I have no need for a life at all.

The creaking of floorboards well past the end of the day. When the lightbulbs and power outlets stop turning on. Cracking open bottles of substances unaffordable. Slapping of bare feet against pavement — children crying and laughing and screaming and never quiet. Bells clanging in the distance — red marks seared too deep to attend. Faceless idiots in the street chattering and whispering and gossiping — always oblivious to their surroundings. Hushed voices morphing into screams; neighbors shutting their windows to mute the sound. Stomping and crashing bottles and pulling shards of glass from forearms in the bathroom. Despising and envying the faceless women and men. Hating the house and the town and wishing to be enough. Being enough meant they wouldn’t hurt. Being enough meant nothing would hurt. Being enough meant being useful.
hey uh. so, you've talked with frisk. a lot. are they on board with sciencing the core with you?
* About that.
* I haven’t mentioned it yet. But they have offered to help me as much as they can from the surface.
what pieces of frisk's wardrobe did u borrow
* A red holiday sweater, reindeer antlers [that I refuse to wear], and thick cotton sweatpants.
* Frisk has a very comfortable wardrobe. Even the unsightly items were remarkably warm.
* It reminded me of my winter nightwear in the castle.
....okay. at least you will not blame yourself for whatever happens this holiday party, then.
* Nothing will happen. Everything has pertained according to the plan.
