hello, mutual. i saw you reblog that text post about self isolating. with the tag 'meeee rip' I /know/ i posted it with the tag 'me rn fr" but if I'M mentally ill and YOU'RE mentally ill then who's driving the bus?! all that to saw ik how shitty it feels and i just wanted to reach out and check on you ig. hope you're doing okay.
if only we funded public transit better, then we could have a bus driver 😭
i appreciate you reaching out, im okay. i think (hope) im headed toward an upswing. my brain has been rougher than usual lately and ive been a bit of a nightmare bc of it. which like never helps lol
isolation as a coping mechanism fucking sucks and im trying to break the current cycle but god its hard. i know i need help with it. if you have friends that do this- that isolate themselves- in my experience they won't reach out and say "i need help". so saying "reach out if you need help" isnt functional. you, my dear mutual, probably understand this so its less for you and more for someone else who may read this.
people dont always reach out when they need help. that doesnt mean they dont want it. maybe they're scared or they think it's not worth it. reach out to people with more than just "let me know if you need help". it doesnt have to be big or require tremendous effort, small stuff helps a lot more than you think. just show people that they can come back. offer patience. idk.
sometimes you need to break into your friend's house and do their dishes to show them its not so scary. sometimes people think theyre too far gone and need someone to make some small gesture that proves they arent.
all of this is nuanced and dependent on the individual and the relationship of course and should not be taken as blanket advice. this is from my experience, which is not universal. but idk this might help *someone* and thats better than nothing.
and thank you for reaching out, mutual 💕 i hope we both find better coping mechanisms. i believe in us 🩷 tbh this helped
