Blue Rider - Cris Williamson (1982)
And you’re flowing like a river,
the changer and the changed.
Hurts like the devil, not having you around.
It’s the spirit of the wild things that you love so much to see
A little passage of time, til I hold you and you‘ll be mine sweet woman
Dancing around in the madness, there is no sadness, only a song of the soul
I love to see you in the low light, love And touch your secret weakness with my fire
Wandering around in my feelings So many ties to my heart So many things i care for
Oh sweet melody Won't you draw her close to you And comfort her for me?
I will fold you in my arms Like a white wing dove Shine in your soul Your spirit is crying

They survived attacks and boycotts to bring out beautiful, soulful and occasionally raucous music. We talk to the stars of the all-women record label who are finally being recognised as pop pioneers
Olivia Records is defunct now, but during the time that they were active, they had a big impact on women in music. Through Olivia, lesbian musicians were able to reach a wider audience. Was the record label perfect? Absolutely not. Are they an important part of music history in the United States? Yes, and we can both celebrate their contributions to music and learn from their mistakes and the larger issues surrounding them in order to contribute something even better. This article from the Guardian is an interesting read, albeit an overview of the history of Olivia Records rather than an in-depth report on the various issues that plagued the label.
filling up and spilling over it’s an endless waterfall
