It didn’t happen often, but every now and then, sometimes she’d see patrons come into her aunt’s club with their workplace juniors. Ordinarily, there wouldn’t have been anything wrong with that, but sometimes they liked to pressure their juniors and lock them into footing the bill. Sometimes, the juniors were alright to leave on their own, some choosing to take a taxi home. But other times, another rarity, the poor juniors would be left to fend for themselves, regardless of the state they were in.
This poor man was barely conscious, hardly responding at all when she and her aunt had tried to rouse him. With no way of getting his address to get him home, and there was no way he could stay at the club overnight, especially if he happened to get sick, she did the only thing she could do and volunteered to take him home, at least until he was conscious enough to make it to his own home safely.
So as carefully as she could, she brought him to the old home she shared with her sisters, her grandpa, and the three cats she’d brought home at different times. She made a spot for him to lay down in the corner of the living room and went about making dinner as usual before helping her youngest sister to bed. She was just beginning to clean up the table when she heard him stir, and turned, a soft smile on her lips.
“Ah, are you awake now?” she asked, tilting her head to the side. “You were pretty much unconscious so I brought you here so you could rest. How are you feeling...?”
