I might get canceled for this, but I'm going to point out some bad things about Transformers Prime. I mean, yes, the series is good, but it's not perfect or amazing (warning: long text, but everything needs an explanation). The first and most obvious:
It's serious and dark to the point of being edgy. There were two clear instances where the Autobots could have died and ended the plot: when Starscream, using the red energon that grants him hyperspeed, infiltrates their base, and when Soundwave escapes after being captured. The first could be justified by Starscream's arrogance, but the second, Soundwave could have killed Ratchet, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead who were there and destroyed the base. But no, he only kidnapped Ratchet, and so the plot continues. In other words, there's no risk of death. Only Cliffjumper, Airachnid, Skyquake, Breakdown, and Dreadwing have died. Cliffjumper's death was simply to demonstrate how serious the story was, and because of his voice actor, The Rock, along with Dreadwing's, because of his voice actor, Tony Todd. The others, well, it was for plot reasons. Optimus's total inexpressiveness is one thing; it's not letting emotions get the better of you or being neutral, but even a rock is more expressive than Optimus. And the Decepticons constantly calling the Autobots "pets." Humans, yes, they're arrogant and all, but why don't they just tell them to shut up? It's like they're saying it to make the series even darker. That insult isn't just any insult, but the Autobots don't say anything to defend or even contradict them, despite supposedly being friends. Besides, there are other, more creative insults like "bags of meat," "softies," "meaty" instead of repeating that one over and over. Or Megatron calling Ratchet "Optimus's lapdog"—yes, I understand he's evil and he's insulting evilly, but once is enough. Just shut up already.
Furthermore, this isn't the first Transformers series to deal with serious themes. I mean, the comics are perfectly fine for that, and they deal with even darker themes in more graphic ways, some better than others, but it's not the "first" dark series in the franchise.
And the characters are very underutilized. There was some development, like Smokescreen, but otherwise, there's little to nothing.
We never see Optimus's feelings or any side of him other than that of a peaceful and just leader. I mean, he's criticized for things that make him imperfect, but it's not like it leads to anything.
That's the biggest problem with the series: some things just don't amount to anything, even though they try to sell them as if they do.
Supposedly, Arcee's development ended when she caught Airachnid, but we're talking about the woman who psychologically tortured her, murdered her best friend right in front of her—clearly a psychopath—and who knows how many more she killed. But no, they just put her in a psychedelic state as if she were a simple candy thief, and Arcee is better than Airachnid because of that.
Wheeljack and Bulkhead are fine, that's about it. Bumblebee has the whole thing about becoming a warrior, and there's also the issue of his voice, but it's not really development; it's just a passing mention. Even Miko, Raf, and Jack have more development than the robots.
Humans, depending on the individual, are either good as characters or just annoying.
Ultra Magnus simply went from bossy to less bossy, and that's it. In the movie, they had to make him useless so Bumblebee could be the leader and move the plot forward without so many characters.
And as I said, Smokescreen is practically the only one with real character development. He started as a determined but dreamy and outspoken kid, and became more serious and noble, among other things. But the way the team treats him is... I don't know, it's like they can never decide whether to be tough on him or try to understand him. Ratchet accuses him of being a thief, and Bulkhead says they replaced him even though he hadn't been there a day. But then Smokescreen's obsession with being a hero and his destiny leads him and Arcee to lose a relic, and she obviously scolds him. He leaves like a total loser, but Ratchet and Optimus come along saying she's "being harsh," although he gets along better with them later on.
Then that "conflict" among the Decepticons about choosing sides between Starscream and Megatron wasn't even a single episode's tension; it was just a brief mention in the episode where they kidnap Breakdown. In fact, Starscream is thrown off the ship, then returns, and basically remains under Megatron's command for the rest of the series. And speaking of Starscream, he's not really a great threat, only because of his size and his underhanded, malicious nature. Otherwise, they could easily kill him off, but they don't because of the plot. Other Starscreams can be more intimidating and pose a real threat than this one.
Soundwave isn't all that great either. Yes, he has a good design, somewhat sinister and, above all, mysterious. He's a threat and useful to the plot, but I challenge you to describe his personality and what he's like without saying: quiet, lethal, loyal to Megatron and the Decepticons, and without throwing in a single headcanon like "he loves Laserbeak" or "he lost Rumble, Frenzy, and Ravage." Exactly. Nothing, there are other Soundwaves with more personality and development, but beyond design and function, this Soundwave isn't the best, especially considering the variety of Soundwaves available.
Although Breakdown showed signs of not being so bad, in the end, Airachnid simply killed him and made him into an experiment for Silas. Dreadwing also showed signs of redemption, being an honorable Decepticon, but he was simply killed for daring to speak out against Megatron's love, Starscream.
Airachnid and Skyquake were okay. Predaking is simply a dragon; its development consists of gaining intelligence and rebelling against Megatron, and that's it.
Shockwave was good at first, being interesting and intimidating, but then the producers didn't know what to do with him and left him in the lab until the movie, where he had an open ending—whether he died, is a ghost, or just got screwed.
Knockout was good at first; he was evil, charismatic, and an important part of the plot. But the problem lies in his redemption. Yes, he showed signs of not being so bad, but they were minimal. He praised human cars but didn't care at all about participating in the genocide of an entire planet. He did nothing to help or defend others. In fact, he was even a bit like Starscream. We didn't see much of his reaction after Breakdown's death, even though they were partners. He just complains that he was easier to polish with and experiments on Silas, who uses Breakdown's remains to create a new body. And although it's supposed to be revenge, it can easily be interpreted as him doing it purely for pleasure. He also does nothing against Airachnid, even though she's his real killer. At the end of the series, he literally spends his time hiding, and in the end, he comes out acting like the goody-two-shoes friend he always was, switching sides just because they won. Meanwhile, in the movie, he simply gets fed up with Starscream and becomes good as if nothing happened. Yes, Starscream mistreated him, but Knockout hadn't done a thing about it, nor did he complain. He simply accepted it until the movie where he's like, "Ugh, he doesn't let me finish his evil line and compliment him, and on top of that, he insults me. Well, I guess I'll become good." Even his partner, Breakdown, had more reasons for redemption than this guy.
Well, yes, that would be all in general. Maybe there are more points, or maybe I wasn't the best at explaining or knowing the subject, but I did it. Do you want to comment?
And finally, Megatron. At first, everything was fine—a bad guy, maybe even a bit over the top, with his "evil eyebrows" that Starscream also has. But then there's his redemption. Pffft. Are you telling me that now that the guy was mistreated and used against his will by an evil god, he decided to end the war? And that's it? That's all? I wasn't expecting that much, but it's just as abrupt as Knockout's. They just give you hints of redemption, and bam! Redemption, as if those crumbs somehow formed a loaf of bread.

Tal vez me funen por esto pero voy a señalar algunas cosas malas de Transformers Prime, osea si, la serie es buena, pero no perfecta o la gran cosa, (advertencia: mucho texto pero todo debe una explicación), lo primero y más obvio:
Es sería y oscura hasta lo edgy, los Autobots hubo perfectamente dos ocasiones donde pudieron morir y acabar la trama, cuando Starscream con el energon rojo que le permite hipervelocidad se infiltra en su base, y Soundwave liberandose tras ser capturado, la primera se podía justificar con la arrogancia de Starscream, pero la segunda Soundwave pudo haber matado a Ratchet, Bumblebee y Bulkhead que estaban ahi y destruir la base, pero no, solo secuestro a Ratchet y así la trama continúa, osea, no hay riesgo de muerte, solo se han muerto Cliffjumper, Airachnid, Skyquake, Breakdown y Dreadwing, el primero fue simplemente para demostrar lo serio que era esto y por su actor de voz La Roca junto a Dreadwing por su actor de voz Tony Todd, y los otros pues si fue por trama, la inexpresividad total de Optimus, una cosa es no dejarse llevar por las emociones o ser neutral pero es que hasta una roca es más expresiva que Optimus, que los Decepticons llamen constantemente "mascotas" a los humanos, y si, son arrogantes y demás, pero ¿Porque no los mandan a callar la boca? Es como si lo dijeran para hacer aún más oscura la serie. No es cualquier cosa ese insulto pero igual los Autobots no dicen nada para defender o contradecirlos siquiera a pesar de ser supuestamente amigos, además de que hay otros insultos más creativos como "bolsas de carne", "blandos", "carnosos" en vez, de repetir una y otra vez eso. O Megatron diciendole "perro faldero de Optimus" a Ratchet, si si, entiendo que sea malvado y esta insultando malvadamente, con una vez se entiende, ya cállate de una vez.
Luego está no es la primera serie de Transformers en tratar temas serios, osea, para eso están perfectamente los cómics que tratan aún más temas oscuros y de formas más crudas, algunas mejores que otras, pero no es la "primera" serie oscura de la franquicia.
Y muy desaprovechados los personajes, hubo algún que otro desarrollo como Smokescreen pero del resto es poco o nada.
Nunca vemos los sentimientos de Optimus u otra faceta que no sea líder pacífico y justo, osea, si se le critica cosas haciéndolo alguien imperfecto pero no es como si llegara a algo. Ese es el mayor problema de la serie, hay cosas que simplemente no llegan a nada aunque te las intenten vender que si.
Supuestamente el desarrollo de Arcee termino al atrapar a Airachnid pero hablamos de la tipa que la torturó psicológicamente, asesino a su mejor amigo frente suyo siendo claramente una psicópata y quien sabe cuantos más mato, pero no, simplemente la meten en éxtasis como si fuera un simple ladrón de dulces y Arcee es mejor que Airachnid por eso.
Wheeljack y Bulkhead pues ta bien, y ya, Bumblebee pues está ahi el tema de convertirse en guerrero y también está el tema su voz pero no es un tema de desarrollo sino como una mención, hasta Miko, Raf y Jack tienen más desarrollo que los robots.
Los humanos, dependiendo de cada quien, o están bien como personajes o solo molestan.
Ultra Magnus simplemente paso de mandon a menos mandon, y ya, y en la película tuvieron que volverlo inútil para tener a Bumblebee de líder y avanzar la trama sin tantos personajes.
Y como dije, Smokescreen es prácticamente el único con un verdadero desarrollo, empezó como un chico determinado pero soñador y bocón a más serio y noble, entre otras cosas, pero el trato del equipo con el es... No lo sé, como que nunca se deciden de si tratarlo duro o entenderlo, lo acusa de ladrón Ratchet y Bulkhead dice que lo reemplazaron cuando ni paso un día de llegar, pero luego el fanatismo de Smokescreen con ser héroe y su destino lo hace perder junto a Arcee una reliquia y claramente está lo regaña, se va como todo un perdedor pero Ratchet y Optimus vienen con que "está siendo dura", aunque luego se lleva mejor con ellos.
Luego ese "conflicto" entre los Decepticons de escoger bando entre Starscream o Megatron ni siquiera fue una tensión de un capítulo, sino que simplemente fue una simple mención en el capítulo donde secuestran a Breakdown, de hecho Starscream lo hechan de la nave y luego vuelve y básicamente sigue bajo el mandato de Megatron durante el resto de serie, y hablando de Starscream, realmente no es una gran amenaza, solo por su tamaño y su malicia tramposa pero del resto perfectamente lo podrían matar pero no lo hacen por trama, otros Starscream pueden intimidar más y mejor y ser verdaderas amenazas que este.
Soundwave tampoco es la gran cosa, si, un diseño bueno, algo tenebroso y sobretodo misterioso, es una amenaza y útil para la trama, pero, te reto a decirme su personalidad y como es sin decir; callado, letal, leal a Megatron y a los Decepticons, y sin ponerme ni un solo headcanon como "ama a laserbeak" o "perdio a Rumble, Frenzy y Ravage". Exacto. Nada, hay otros Soundwave con más personalidad y desarrollo, pero más allá del diseño y su funcion Soundwave no es para nada el mejor Soundwave y sobretodo con toda la variedad de Soundwave que hay y que puede ofrecer.
Aunque Breakdown tuvo indicios de no ser tan malo, al final simplemente lo mato Airachnid y lo hicieron experimento de Silas, también Dreadwing tuvo indicios de hasta una redención al ser un decepticon con honor pero simplemente lo mataron por medio alzar la voz al amor de Megatron.
Airachnid y Skyquake fueron un ok. Predaking es simplemente un dragon, su desarrollo consiste en obtener inteligencia y revelarse contra Megatron y ya.
Shockwave estuvo bien al principio siendo alguien interesante e intimidante, pero luego los productores no sabían que hacer con el ahora y lo hicieron el personaje en el laboratorio hasta la película donde tuvo un final abierto entre si murió, es un fantasma o se fue a la verga.
Knockout pues estuvo bien al principio, era malvado, carismático, fue parte importante de la trama pero el problema está en su redención, si, tuvo indicios de no ser tan malo, pero fueron mínimos, alababa los carros de los humanos pero no le importo en lo absoluto participar en un genocidio de un planeta entero, no hizo nada para ayudar o defender a otros, de hecho, era hasta un poco como Starscream, no nos mostraron mucha reacción de él tras la muerte de Breakdown aunque eran compañeros, solo se queja que se pulía más fácilmente con el y experimenta con Silas al este utilizar los restos de Breakdown para tener un nuevo cuerpo, y aunque se supone que es una venganza, perfectamente se puede tomar como que lo hizo por mero gusto y ya, ni tampoco hace nada contra Airachnid aunque está es su verdadero asesino, en el final de la serie literalmente se la pasa escondido y al final sale haciéndose el amiguito buenote de toda la vida cambiando de bando solo porque ganaron y ya, mientras en la película simplemente se harta de Starscream, se vuelve bueno como si nada, si, Starscream lo ha maltratado pero Knockout no ha había hecho absolutamente nada contra eso, ni se quejaba, simplemente lo acepta hasta la película donde se pone tipo "uy, no me deja terminar su frase malvada y halagarlo, encima me insulta, bueno, pues me vuelvo bueno". Hasta su compañero Breakdown tenía más razones de redención que este tipo.
Y finalmente Megatron, al principio todo bien, un tipo malo, tal vez hasta exagerando, con sus "cejas malvadas" que también lleva Starscream, pero luego está su redención, pfffft, ¿Me estás diciendo que ahora que el tipo fue maltratado y udasdo contra su voluntad por un dios malvado decidió ya terminar la guerra? ¿Y ya? ¿Eso es todo? No esperaba tanto pero es igual de abrupta que Knockout, simplemente te dan indicios de redención y ¡Pum! Redención, como si esas migajas ya formarán un pan.
Pues si, eso sería todo en general, tal vez haya más puntos o no fue la mejor explicativa o conocedora del tema pero lo hice ¿Tú quieres comentar algo?
