“Oh, I’m not scared, I’m just giving life advice.” Apparently she had him more wound up than she intended. Even if he hide it rather well, adults often only said those things when they got concerned to say the least. Sure it had been awhile since they lost whoever had been tailing them, but her words still stood. It was something she learned through experience. “Don’t tell me you’re worried about little ol’ me, I suppose that’s sweet of you.”
i think yousa mean killen yourself
@crlosoliveira sent: i don’t think i can take this much longer. / hi!!! → from this meme.
“Yeah.”
The very clear attempts the BSAA has made to cover up the Baker Incident is nothing to laugh about, but Chris laughs anyway, smoke tumbling between his lips. Laughing’s easier than thinking about the disappointment. Laughing’s easier than knowing an organisation he’s dedicated his life to has gone the easy route of crookedness.
The smile on his face is wry. “That’s why I’m leaving.”
Simple as one-two-three.
“I appreciate it, though,” he says, turning his head and facing Carlos where he sits by him outside the motel room, “you coming here.” I hoped I could talk to Jill, but it’s good I at least got this to you is an unspoken sentiment. It’s nothing Carlos has done, certainly, and Chris doesn’t think him lesser in any way-- Jill had just been in this fight with him since 1998, and it feels strange to be going off the grid without telling her personally in any way.
She’s busy, though, and Chris knows it. And in the end he likes Carlos well enough that this doesn’t feel all that forced.
Besides, Chris knows the hands that hold the files he’d pulled from the BSAA outlining their protocol for data wipes and permission modifications regarding Louisiana are hands he can rely on. For all that Chris doesn’t trust Blue Umbrella, he certainly trusts the man that sits about a door’s width away from him. Carlos will let Jill know. Carlos will carry this information with integrity, will remember.
“I’ve disappeared enough times without thinking about telling other people,” he muses. “Kind of nice to break the pattern for once.”
Then Chris takes another drag of his cigarette, shaking his head. “I just wish Romania wasn’t so god damn cold this time of year... and I hope Ethan agrees to come with me.”
@crlosoliveira gets abbey.
The Raccoon Police Department was huge, it was as big as the lab as far as Abbey was concerned, but it looked more like a mansion from the outside, not to mention those gates. It had kind of an Arkham Asylum type feel to it.
Anyways, the RPD arrived not too shortly after she wrecked havoc on the Alpha Corp lab in Little Charles River, which wasn’t that long of a drive from Racoon City, but when they were sending in cops via helicopter and other means, it took even less time. Those fuckers didn’t play around.
So being a bioweapon and all, she had been detained but despite the best efforts of the RPD, she had escaped. She was still in the vicinity but hadn’t gotten caught yet. She wasn’t really out to murder them all in cold blood like she had done with the scientists, (not to mention she actually had beef with them) but that didn’t mean she couldn’t have some kind of fun.
In the midst of her wandering , she followed the trail of coffee scent and found the break room. Nobody really noticed her immediately so she just helped herself to some coffee and poured about five packets or so of sugar into her hot drink. Shit, did they have syrup shots in this place? Raiding the fridge certainly couldn’t hurt and to her very luck, she found a container of caramel syrup sitting right in the middle shelf. “Bingo.” So she poured a good portion of that in and drank to her heart’s content.
So when Carlos had finally found her after a few caramel shot filled coffees later, she was twitching on the floor with a rather disconcerting smile on her face. “Shit, I think I can taste colors.”
