Niece has also been bugging me to show off the wazzit. It's a stitch sampler, a diorama, a lap cover, a shawl, and just sort of growing how it feels right.
I put in a wild little garden, with brick stitched walls and vines, assorted flowers and a tiny critter because a good garden will indeed have some. There is a lovely orange tree peeking over the wall on the side of the hill. Nice place to let the fingers play before sliding into the soft clouds in the sky.
All of it is meant to be touched or have fingers threaded into the yarn. There's a loop to hold the weight, mesh for stretching, and over there is the first tree in front of the bird wing.
The close up bird wing, then rolling hills with various types of textures and yarns fading into the distance. A smaller old fashioned bird in orange just to be silly. I like the fun yarn bushes and the mix of harsh and very soft yarns.
I usually do very formal, very specific works so having something odd with no goals, no specific form for it to take was a nice stretch for once. Every area is different. Every flower different. Every cloud different. It was also a nice way to use up the ends of various yarns from other projects. Eventually I'll finish adding the deepening sky into the stars - but not till I feel it and because it's just a wazzit, it can wait for me.
