Hey Tumblr, I need some creative help.
I'm working on starting a stitch n bitch at my local library. Thing is, I need a name for it that isn't "stitch n bitch," because I guarantee the library will not go for that.
THE SPECS:
--In Arizona. As a warning: all libraries in Maricopa County are named for local flora and fauna, so as cute as something like Cactus Crafters would be, it's gotta be off the table because there are in fact two branches named for cacti species. That runs the risk of being too confusing.
--should include lesser-known fiber crafts like bobbin lace and nålbinding (I already have a tatter who wants to join!)
--should be at least somewhat clear that this is not a quilting group, for the bizarrely large number of people who decided a stitch n bitch was the same thing as a sip n sew (listen if you want to bring some hand sewing go for it but I do not have and am not providing a quilting machine)
--should be all-ages friendly. If you're ten and you want to learn to crochet, get an adult to bring you with a hook and yarn and we will get you going. If you're 80 and just want to hear the juicy goss, we can do that too.
Current suggestions from my roommate:
--Fiber Folks
--Strings n Things
--Makers Anonymous
--Craft n Chat
--Project Pals
--Yarnapalooza
--Craftchella
--BYOP (Bring Your Own Project)
Any other suggestions? Something on this list particularly entertaining to you? Please share your thoughts.
I’ve been neglecting the posting of my squares the last few days, so here’s everything I read in this first week of August 😅
Books 103-106! 📚🧶
Another 400-odd pages of dinosaurs, another buddy read wrapped up, a graphic novel I’ve been wanting to cross off my tbr for ages, and an audiobook I stumbled on by accident. Quite the assortment, even for me. 😂
Made my boyfriend a lil cat ear hat, will be making a few of these for my shop soon!!

A simple daisy chain book mark! I will be putting this in the little free library I run :)
Trying my hand at fillet crochet for the first time. Officially a quarter of the way done with the pattern, and it’s starting to actually look like a real picture lmao
Bear Bubble Tea [Trying free patterns 5/??]
Free Bear Bubble Tea Pattern, except mine looks a bit more like a cat because I cinched its ears. Also was too lazy to do the boba :P
Making this was quick, easy, and super duper satisfying! The pattern is low sew, but you can modify it to be no sew altogether if you crochet the ears directly on the plushie! I didn't do that, but its food for thought?
