being a crocheter/knitter with sensitive skin and skin asthma is like:
touching yarn before you buy it vigorously to make sure it won’t irritate you. getting weird looks from other shopgoers
frogging yarn and wheezing at all the stray fibers in the air
using sheddy yarn and wheezing at all the stray fibers in the air
asking online sellers if the yarn they’re selling is soft. checks reviews that complain of scratchiness
playing with yarn to ignore the itchiness. you’re still very itchy but at least you’re being productive, hey?
“i should put cream on now for the dryness. but if i put it on now, then my hands will be too slippery to hold the needles/hook. but if i don’t put it on now, then i will be very itchy”
bringing your wip bag to doctors’ appointments
crying when you accidentally set your wip down on a dusty surface and the dust gets into everywhere and you can’t work on it but you can’t clean it either
*coughs while knitting and resumes immediately* “”wow you’re just like a grandma!!!!”
makes your own stuffed toys because you can’t have the normal ones
