just played a cool game jam game on Itch.io-- Cross Stitched, where you play Baba Yaga as you try and fight your way out of a tapestry, and collect and enhance powerups in your own tapestry as you do.
It's real simple-- game jam game and all-- but lots of fun, and insanely beautiful!
Although I usually only post 1-2 photos and a link to the blog when posting my embroidery projects here, this is a very special gift project for @stormyoceans and requires a few words of explanation, which aren't on the blog but are very appropriate here. In any case, if I hadn't seen the UWMA gifs on this platform in late 2019/early 2020 and developed an interest in Thai TV series, we wouldn't be here today, embroidering a pattern inspired by the graphics from My Magic Prophecy, a pattern I had to develop for someone I basically only know online. (And I cross stitched two! one on plastic and one on normal canvas, and the one in frame sits on my shelf) But if that's not exactly how the magic of the internet and Tumblr works, I don't know how it could be otherwise.
And if you're interested in my embroidery chatter, I encourage you to check out the blog and use your browser's translator!
Hey all, my name is Max. I am a disabled queer artist living on government disability due to multiple chronic illnesses. I have an etsy store where I'm displaying several of my designs I've cross-stitched.
I turned to cross stitching as a way to keep myself occupied and found it to be a fantastic creative outlet.
As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I wanted to make pride flag designs as a way for people to express themselves or show support for others.
I'd love it if you would check out my page and support me! All products are handmade and I only make a small profit on each, but it helps me to be more autonomous and I'm saving up for a wheelchair.
Even if you can't buy anything or aren't interested, I'd really appreciate you sharing this post!
Thank you so much for reading and reblogging!
