Have you seen the cover for issue 30 of “Nightwing” in the April solicitations for DC? Or maybe the cover of the recently released 4th issue of “Cataclysm: The Ultimates’ Last Stand”? I have and I think it’s time we had a chat about the use of character death in mainstream comics. The undermining of death as a narrative device with consistent rebirth is an outdated and disrespectful tenant of caped comics that can and should be addressed.

I remember this taking me 3 days and 3 night straight, because inspiration kicked in and I was being obsessed. Too bad that lasted enough for just the lineart part, though. One of these days, I will bring myself to color this... today isn't one of them. >w>

Patrol had started out normally that day. Stop a bank robbery here, rescue a treed cat there. Routine. It was only when she was flying low over the countryside surrounding Metro City, air-bike casting a flickering shadow over the ground, that things got interesting.
Off in the distance, there was another moving vehicle passing over the hills. Not really that out of the ordinary - if you didn't count the fact that the other vehicle was a large patchwork quilt of a castle, walking on thin bird-like legs.
Staring in shock, air-bike hovering in place, Megamind's curiosity soon got the better of her, and she throttled the bike, flying in for a closer look.
