Still unpacking images from this past weekend. Legs are looking up at me with those, "y u do that?" eyes. . First proper ride with the @wahoofitnessofficial ELEMNT reinforced what my legs and lungs have been telling me—there's no rest on the GGCSO. This stretch of road is the flattest section of the 30 miles I've been doing. That rise at the end is 7% which is the *average* section of consistently rolling route. Every legit climb is double digits with a majority around 13-14%. A couple hit 18%—essentially climbing at walking speed when you factor in the momentum sucking chip seal. I've been wary of this ride because of what it does to me afterwards but now I want to use it to my advantage. An unexpected gravel & chip seal lunch for Independence Day yesterday. Also an eye-opener of how far I have to go in fitness as I could only do half of my GGCSO route. Only 16 miles from 30, but the nearly 1,600 feet of climbing is a bit of consolation.
