Team one: Operation CastleGate
It felt like hours of stumbling along gripping his shoulder in pain while getting more and more annoyed. Maybe it was the lack of colour, Maybe it was how utterly generic fantasy this castle was or the fact the group found themselves at a castle door tasked to open an escape route for the other teams that had him getting angrier by each slow minute.
For now there were no guards here but none of them could be certain for how long. Chewing his lip in irritation he looked round to see if there was an obvious switch or something.
"We could just burn it down? Who cares about their shitty gate?" He scoffed, offering no helpful advice.

ASKING OF THEIR GREATEST WEAKNESS SEEMED TO BE THE BEST PLACE TO START, only making an attempt to locate where they should begin their work. if he was to begin lecturing on topics that jinx was already familiar with, it would end up wasting both of their time - proving to be of no use for either of them. it was with the highest confidentiality that he would withhold this information, serving only for the sake of bettering his talents for their collective gain. sebek just as everyone else, wanted to see the general populace back in their dorms as soon as possible. if tutoring one of his fellow students would help the cause, he would not take that information & use it for ill - intention later - his sense of morality & high honors was too high to use such a lowly tactic. bragging however, was not beneath him.
“ that would pose great issue, you must hit the enemy for the shot to be effective. perhaps we should start with a demonstration of what you’re working with. ” reaching to his belt, he pulls his magic pen from it’s holster. “ i ask that you do not restrain yourself, attack as if i were the adversary. ”
they were certainly not to be put up against anything human, it was a rare case that they would be. but he was well - acquainted with the inhuman. “ you must consider the opponent. if not to be solved with a punch, then you will rely on magic. in that case, you have to be prepared for anything. ” - he was not one who was particularly well - adapt for teaching magical control, as a late bloomer himself; but he had plenty to spare if jinx was looking for some assistance.

Kalim sat at his drum kit lightly tapping the top of the drum with the sticks absentmindedly. He was busy staring out the window watching the world go by as he wasn't really thinking. The mixture of the light taps on the drum and the jingling of his bracelets making a slight combo of sound.
When the other entered the room Kalim would jump, accidentally throwing a stick across the room wincing as it clattered across the floor before it rolled into Jinx's feet.
"O-oh hey Jinx!" He smiled brightly. "Sorry about that." Standing he walked around the drum set to go pick it up from the ground. "You startled me. Guess I was spacing out Ah ha ha!" Laughing at his clumsiness he smiled brightly at his club mate. "How was your day today Jinx? Wanna jam?" Punctuating his question with the ring of the cymbal.
[ My Good Luck Jinx ]

Ember bit anxiously at his nails as he watched Jinx’s texts come in. He’d thankfully figured out how to set himself to seem offline- well, his sibling had figured out how to teach him to do so- and waited for the topic to pass.
But… as he waited, he realized more and more that there was no escaping this. Between Jinx discussing how receiving affection was new to him and Luciano asking to help the two connect, the topic was now at the forefront of his mind.
[ DM to Luciano: I’m… going to be impulsive. Wish me luck. ]
[ From Luciano: Sevenspeed. ]
Ember closed out that chat and opened the one between him and Jinx.
[ DM to Atticus: Apologies for my absence.
I didn’t disappear because I was upset. I… Luciano was right about my feelings towards you. I do have a crush on you. ]
Ember sent the message without giving himself the chance to second-guess himself. However, when all he received in response was a simple read notification, he began to panic.
He was aware that he tend to come off as callous. Not many people would put up with it to the extent Jinx had- with Kalen and Rove and his peers he still attempted to play it down. Even Luciano was receiving a semi-diluted version of Ember still.
But Jinx saw all of him. Or as much of him that Ember could show.
To lose that friendship… it was unimaginable.
Ember was ready to type out an apology, find a way to rescind the admission, when he finally received a response.
[ from Atticus: im coming over ]
[ i guess. ]
Ember shot a reply back to inform his best friend that his door was unlocked and quietly sat down the phone. He waited, closing his eyes and focusing on his breath, waiting for the sound of Atticus walking down the hall.

Now, the halls of the prestigious Night Raven University were generally quite large, but when a tall slender beastman from Savanaclaw was unknowingly blocking the entrance to where you needed to go through, it could understandably get annoying. Zacaraya had stopped for but a moment to pull out his phone from his back pocket, eyes glued to the screen as he swiped through his music to pick a song he was in the mood for. Unfortunately for the poor Pomefiore student, the beastman would not be able to hear any attempts of Atticus announcing his presence.
Until, he was abruptly shoved to the side, and his headphones fell from his lion ears, causing them to flick upright instead of being pressed against his head. Loud music - very obviously some kind of metal music; screams interrupted the silence between them - blasted from the headphones now that they were free, and Zacaraya blinked down at the Pomefiore student. "Woah, so handsy," he grinned, bending his head down slightly to get a better look at his 'new friend'. "I would gladly allow you to explore more thoroughly with those hands, if that is what you wish," he teased. Zacaraya was known to use banter as his weapon to get under someone's skin, rather than responding with outright aggression.

_____ He let out a breath once he was outside letting go of Jinx’s arm letting the other stretch his joints as he took in the quiet without the hustle and bustle of all the other students. “Yeah it’s annoying…” He grumbled. He looked back to the other as his question landed on his ears. “Scared? Nah.” He shrugged mulling over it. He wasn’t really that frightened of this entity but more angry at this point. “Maybe a little…but I’m more angry.” He murmured before stretching. “I hate being forced in such a small space with all these people.” He fiddled with his sleeve slightly clutching his arm as he walked. “I’m sure you can’t wait to be out of the room with me too. Like any fear of this thing has been buried under the cabin fever and annoyance now.” He pondered for a moment if he really wanted Jinx’s answer to his semiquestion. He looked up to the darkening sky letting out a breath watching it mist in the air from the mixture of warmth and cold like whisps fading. “I miss my quiet space…nothing against you…I..I well am glad i got to room with you.” He flushed slightly, feeling stupid looking away from the other though his ears were pink.

Well the room share had been a weird mix to the point he wondered if Crowley had picked names from a hat. But at least someone from above was kind and had paired him up with Jinx.
Currently Rove was setting up his bed feeling a bit sulky that he wasn't in his normal half bunk with the ant enclosure next to him to soothe him to sleep.
He had tried to keep all his bugs on one side of the room. Almost two years of solo living his collection had expanded quite a lot and even in travelling boxes they took up a considerable amount of space.
"Hope Jinx doesn't mind…" he mused slightly as Dollface sat on his head as he fluffed his pillow. The silly colourful caterpillar body pillow like plush sat on top of the bed.
"Right… that should do it."
