Welcome to the holiday season - Continued from here @crossedxpaths
『 ❝ less asking questions and more defending yourself. otherwise you're gonna lose. ❞ 』
the remark was made without hesitation, Hiccup tossing a newly made snowball up and down in his hand a few times before he proceeded to launch it towards her. it was a bit of a spur of the moment idea on his part, but one that he felt was necessary. all too often, Hiccup found himself far too busy to really have fun anymore. so whenever an opportunity arose, he was going to take it.
『 ❝ you're never too old for a good old snowball fight. come on... give me your best shot, Astrid. ❞ 』 she could only refuse his challenge for so long. he knew her well, after all. at least, he'd like to think so.
Astrid caught the snowball Hiccup had hurled her way, her reflexes as sharp as ever. A flicker of amusement crossed her face before she settled into her usual determined demeanor.
"Less talking, more aiming, Hiccup. I thought you said I should be defending myself" she shot back as she bounced the snowball from hand to hand , debating her next move.
She stepped forward, closing the distance between them just enough to hopefully make him second - guess his strategy.
"You know, you're never too old to lose to me in a snowball fight, either. And trust me, you're about to".
Without waiting for a response, Astrid threw the snowball with practiced precision, aiming straight for his chest. Before he could even process the incoming strike, she was already scooping up another handful of snow.
"Come on chief! Show me that leadership in action, or is talking your only weapon today?" she exclaimed with a grin. Though she wouldn’t admit it to Hiccup just yet, there was no denying the snowball fight was amusing - a welcome break from their hectic lives on Berk. It had been too long since they’d stolen a moment like this, just the two of them.
