Also, both of them are considered to be 'top idols' in their series, hence the rivalry~

Oooh, I see what you're putting down! Honestly, it sounds super cute, in a strange way XD Like, maybe the only one they feel they can be themselves around is each other, so they've got this mutual understanding/soft bond going. But they are also idols, and with their motifs being the same/similar, they're displayed as professional rivals.

At first I was like "Ah yes, the eternal, friendly rivalry. It was going to show up one day" and then continued to read and??? Honestly??? Kinda love that idea XD

I mean, I don't know Mario's age, but Sonic is usually anywhere between 15 (I think) and 22, so Mario seeing this teen running around risking his life and potentially not caring for the consequences because he's only just started forming his 'found family' and adopting him makes so much sense!!

Also Sonic needs more love akshdindodnee His story has been so dark lately 😭
