"Magic?" from the way she's described it, it doesn't seem too different from the way chakra works and a look into his network wasn't exactly the same but it was relatable enough, "Tell me, are you also born with affinities? Or does that not matter?"
“Affinities?”
Lucy had been more than willing to answer any question this man had, though it was hard to believe he was from a completely different world altogether. (But even harder to disbelief considering her own experiences in Edolas.) It took her a few seconds to truly process just what this man was asking, but she was willing to try her best all the same. And while visually showing Neiji an example of magic by summoning one of her dear spirits had worked wonders, Loke was currently making a claim towards her own ‘affinities’ that left her cheeks reddening in consternation. “And that’s enough out of you, Loke, Close the Gate!” ‘Parting does cast such sweet sorrow. Farewell, Lucy!’
He could be so dramatic sometimes.
“Sorry about that. While I can summon Spirits to fight by my side, they all have their own... personalities and don’t always know when to not say things.” God, that was embarrassing, what was Loke thinking saying that to a complete stranger?! “Anyway, I guess you can say not everyone has the affinity to being able to use magic, but most of us can learn if we really try. Some types come easier than others. Like I can technically learn some other brands of magic with lots of practice, but my mother passed the knowledge of Celestial Magic down to me so that’s what I know best! Or is that not what you meant?”
