This is my photograph for the cross polarisation section of the unseen project. To set this up I used a light box which was built into a table, taped a polarising sheet onto the table, placed the tub lids on top of the polarising sheet and then put the second sheet on top of the tub lids. I like this image as the composition is really interesting, by placing the lids at opposite corners of the frame it creates lovely symmetry within this image. I feel like this composition compliments this type of application due to the crowded pattern we see within the plastic. I moved the polarising filter which was on top of the subject around a little bit so that a black background would be produced, I feel like this background makes the colours on the lids really stand out. Overall I was really pleased with the way this photograph turned out, I had never tried cross polarisation out before and I didn't even know what it meant so I have definitely learned a new technique in the section of the project.
