Great Crosswild Recap By Laura

I think Laura's recap of last weekend's Crosswild Reflection retreat resonates with everyone who was a part of the weekend.  Here's her words, but I echo everything she says:

I think I speak for every leader involved, that we are just as blessed as any student. To witness 200 students cover the beach on Saturday morning, bibles out and starting their day off with personal time with Jesus. To sit back and listen on Saturday night as the band had to scream because everyone was singing so loud that they couldn’t hear themselves. To watch as this generation is being ignited to start a revolution and to be awakened to the possibility of God desiring to use them. To realize how proud I am of my brothers, my parents and friends. To stand in awe at what God is doing in this city, among these people and how humbled I am to have any part of it.

Crosswild Reflection Retreat 2010 - Saturday Night

Session is kicking of with a cover of Paramore's Hallelujah... this OE band is off the chain.  We challenged our students to reflect God's image last night.  Many of the leaders shared their story of how God has taken worthless, useless people and turned them into people that reflect Him into the lives of others.  It was overwhelming to be reminded of the person I truly was and what God has done in my life. The sessions were so good this weekend that I almost feel silly trying to describe them in a blog.  God's been doing cool stuff and I know the work will continue after we leave this place. In a little bit I get to explain to the students that the emotions they may have experienced don't last.  And I get to assure them that following God with your daily life is not easy, but it is worth it.
