Feathered Shadow

Ashur's head ached between the blight's whisper and its burn. He knew from Tarquin's worried glances how bad it looked, the blackened veins and red eyes, but there was nothing he could do about that. He continued to refuse Tarquin's urging to go to the Wardens because he knew their Joining was not a sure thing, and he was needed here.

He shielded himself against the Venatori spells, fighting back with fingers of ice that clawed the air as they sailed towards the Venatori. He caught movement out of the corner of his eye as the Venatori launched another gout of flame at him. He blocked the flame with his shield, bringing his hands up to launch ice at both the mage and the would be assassin.

The Venatori assassin's forehead sprouted feathers before they could even bring their blade down to attack him. With that threat contained he threw his strength fully at the Venatori mage, hitting them with such a blast of ice they momentarily froze. A flask of something flew through the air and hit them. Electric current broke from the glass and shattered the frozen body.

Ashur straightened then said to the nearby form in the shadows, "I had that handled."

"Sure you did," came Rook's sarcastic reply. The Crow stepped into the muted moonlight, strung bow still in one hand. "Oh I absolutely believe you would have ordinarily had it handled, but you haven't slept in days. You're exhausted and in pain, and that slowed you."

Ashur permitted himself a soft huff behind his mask. "Don't tell Tarquin?"

He realized he just how tired he sounded.

"I won't," Rook promised. "But take someone with you next time you go out. Neve worries about you."

Ashur gave them a long look and smiled sadly. "You know I'm a lost cause, right? You can't save everyone, Rook."

"I can damned well try," Rook retorted.

Currently, I only have one Rook with a 'canon' romance: Senka/Lucanis. (which is HERE.)

More importantly: AROJAN and SENKA - they also do not have a ship name. Yet.

Arojan and Senka put their stamps all over this. @stormemes11 was amazing, as always, and forced Arojan to answer. /smirks.

When Sen falls in love, real love, she's all in, as you can see.

As for "talking too much"? When in relation to Gruñón, she would be seen as a talker. /laughs.

I love their flexible/stubborn dynamic. Many fun interactions to be had there.

He's two feet taller than her. That damned text post where she climbed him? She absolutely would. Crows are acrobatic after all.
