actually in the japanese language adding "ne" or "nee" to desu adds emphasis on the word like saying "anata wa sega takai desu" is just "You are tall" whereas saying "sega takai desune" means "You are tall, aren't you?" or adding "desunee" to it is like "Wow! You're tall!" Ya feel me
The meaning that I had in mind for the ne in that post was the “seeking agreement” one, and that meaning is very much like that of Latin nonne.
