okay so. 3 person system. kris, ralsei, and <3.
kris is the only one who doesn't know they're plural (and the host.) i imagine they split pretty young and probably partially from the stress/isolation of being the only human in hometown. i like to think the horns were sort of an early sign of ralsei splitting, they would pretend to be a monster and get sooo into it that they would even haha. pretend to forget it after ? what a weird kid. anyway. they know they have dissociative episodes, but not that there's fully Other People up there. they can't remember ralsei fronting, but they're usually co-conscious with <3. they don't know that <3 is their own person, though, they just think they're fucked up.
ralsei's been around for a while, maybe the first to split or maybe kris' monstersona was an early member who's dormant/fused with ralsei now, but whatever. originally an introject of asriel, but as he started getting older and being at school and hanging out with other people more, ralsei kind of grew into her own person without realizing it. she's transfem, but is in denial about it, since she's "supposed to be" asriel, and if she's not, how can she help kris? obviously, it's been years since ralsei was even a little similar to real life asriel, but she doesn't seem to notice. ralsei knows they're plural, and what that is, but... she has some . not so great opinions on it. she's very rooted in the idea that she's JUST a coping mechanism, nothing else, and that she really shouldn't intrude on kris' life and kris' body.
<3 is the player. i'll use it/its for it here, but realistically i think it'd be whatever your pronouns are. can't go too much into its motivations/personality since we... don't really know what's happening there in-game? but it split after dess' disappearance. after kris' realization that they're plural, it's pretty easy for most of their friends to tell kris and ralsei apart, but only noelle can pick apart kris and <3 every time.
