I want to talk about the sibling-like relationship between the hero Seastar and the villain Unwilling Donor.

Will is part of a gang of villains themed off urban legends, and she has the power to regenerate her body parts, giving organ harvesters an infinite supply of internal organs to take and sell on. After escaping them, she understandably has an intense distrust of other people, and she underwent a lot of pain and torture with these people.

Seastar is one of the 10-year-old heroes, and among his powers are the same thing, regeneration of any body part. At one point in his story, Seastar goes missing, and he has no family to look for him, no-one really caring for him, so all that's really noticed is the small ocean themed hero has gone missing. And he's in the same situation Will once was, a victim of organ harvesting because this is an infinite supply of organs for the market. A child's organs. And it's not the first time someone has taken advantage of his healing powers.

When he and Will first meet, he's escaping that hell and the first people he runs into are her gang, who could very easily just kill him there and then. Young, frightened hero crawling through the dustbowl? Noone looking for him? An easy take down. But he realises Will has the same power as him and has been through the same shit and just latches onto her. Sees her as someone he can relate to about the pain and trauma from this one specific power that other people only ever talk of the good of. And she gets attached to him too, protecting him from the others. They very much end up with a brother/sister bond and it's adorable.
