Miss Arachnis
Hi y'all! It's been a little while. I had to rest my hyper nerves. I was so dissapointed! I finally got drawing on the hazbin mini-comic I wanted to do for so long. I had roughly sketched all 6 panels, finished all pencil work on 4, and I tip a mug of coffee on my sketchbook! I almost started to cry. It would have been good to. I didn't have the energy to redraw it, but now I know that I can do it so there will be a new attempt when I got a new idea. Here is a sketch of what the comic should have been about. Charlie should have been like a news anchor and presented a surprise guest. Here it is:
The hardest part about a white suit?
Keeping it clean.
Little au where zinc and j are childhood friends, instead of enemies
Oh sweet summer children, you're so traumatized in your main lore 🫶
What is Arachnis?
Arachnis is an Oc Project between my friend Holly and me, Lou. It started in 2023 when Holly made J-056, simply because. I made Zinc pretty much the same day and we started working on the lore building. It went a little off the rails, and now we got an actual project.
The lore of this project is build like an TV show, with four seasons each. What I used as a header up there is the Logo for the first season. I think I'll post the other logos at some point too. We got inspired by Cyberpunk / futurestic style of worldbuilding, with some ideas from Arcane.
About the world...
Arachnis is named after the city it plays in. The city, Arachnis, is a futuristic city lead by a councillor. The city has two layers, the top city and the slums underground. The slums underneath are poor and plagued with sickness, while the top part is filled with technology, wealth, alcohol and bars.
In the slums resides H.O.P.E., responsible for taking care of the big amount of orphan children that live in the slums. Most people die from the sicknesses underneath, most of the population are children. H.O.P.E. children are brought into the police force in the top part.
Zinc grew up in the slums, working as a smuggler and holding a deep grudge against the topside and H.O.P.E. When he isn't smuggling, he's spending his time in bars. He's wanted by the police force for theft, illegal gun ownership, illegal imports and vandalism, but so has been managing to escape every Bounty Hunter Drone the city has sent after him.
J-056, or simply just J, also grew up in the slums. They had the luck of joining the H.O.P.E. Force. After years of service, their body no longer looks human, replaced by mechanic enhancements. After a failure on a mission, J is demoted to bounty hunter, and soon enough sent after Zinc as their target.
About the creators
Admin of this blog is Lou. (Also the one writing this, hello!) Lou is an artist and creator of Zinc, responsible for some artwork that will be posted on this blog. Lou also writes, and is the one writing and brainstorming when it comes to the lore of Arachnis. Any writing posted comes from her. She's 19 (as of writing this post, 2025), living in Germany. Currently studying at a Uni with no actual goals for the future, a passion for writing and creating only.
Co-admin is Holly. Also an artist, creator of J-056. They are 20 years old and from Finland. Most of the art posted here are probably from them. I asked them if they want to add anything to this. They just said they're genderfluid, or probably not. Which means I have total freedom to write stuff here. Haha, look Holly I'm filling your about page with random words. (They're super cool, just shy, guys, I promise.)
What now?
We plan to post writing and art of Arachnis, reveal some lore, interact with people! Our goal was always, with some hope, luck and tears, to bring this little project to more people. We had some deep dedication from our friends, which we are deeply thankful for.
Even if Arachnis is planned like a TV show, neither of us have the skill for animating, so our dream of an actual show may never happen (we cry everyday.)
That doesn't stop us from posting, now does it? We would love interactions with some users who are interested in the guys who have infested our brains.
We've put up and Q&A box, if you want to ask us anything. (Srs, we answer anything, even if you may ask the stupidist question ever.) (We are that desperate)
If you read this until now, thanks! Hopefully we'll see us soon.
- Lou
Been thinking about starting a comic lately…
Arachnis: Hey Miguel~ I got you something from a recent mission.
Miguel: Is it last week’s report?
Arachnis: I already sent you the report. Here. *Hands him a present*
Miguel: *Looks at it suspiciously* …
Arachnis: I promise you, it’s not a “toy” from that one fic of you.
Miguel: *Rips off the wrapping paper and opens the box*
What happened to the spider?
By now everyone knows the story of the experiment that went awry, of the innocent spider that absorbed the unpredicted dose of radiation and, dying, bit a studious young fellow who went on to fame (if not fortune) by crawling up walls and other bizarre deeds.
But what of the other half of the story? What of the poor, glowing spider? Dead, you say? How do you know? Can you trust a person who wears odd pajamas, lives with his aunt, and clings to the ceiling? Besides, did he take the arachnid's pulse? Listen for a heartbeat? Of course not.
In point of fact, the poor little victim of unbridled experimentation did not die; it was merely in shock. When it recovered from its comatose condition, it found itself with a rapdily growing body and a taste for human flesh — though whether this was caused by the gamma rays or the ex-student's free sample is unclear.
At first the unfortunate arachnid stifled these strange impulses and subsisted on rodents and roaches;an easy thing to do in Manhattan. The turning point came when it decided that any basketball team would be overjoyed with an eight-foot center. Alas, the Knicks turned it down: although the proper color and a true child of the streets, it did not know the necessary nineteen handslaps.
Its heart crying out for vengeance, Arachnis went amok, mugging passers- by, stealing cars, and setting fire to buildings.
Thus it was a long time before anyone in New York noticed that something strange was at work.
