GUYS. guys. someone made a artemis fowl vn back in 2019 on itch.io:
A fangame Vis-Novel of Eoin Colfers Artemis Fowl : book one
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHANCEENYER COME BACK. i am emotionally attached to this now. I loved the artstyle and i loved the silly hums and noises Artemis makes. i still havent figured out the minigame but oh well.
Do you have any headcanons for artemis? Or just thoughts about him? :P
I have many, many thoughts about the "boy genius" :3
A headcanon would be that Artemis' hair is actually slightly curly, but not to the extent of his mother's or Beckett's. He slicks it back and looks unimaginably cringe. But he still does it anyways because he believes he'll grow it into it one day (it makes him feel "professional").
That's all I could come up with rn, thank you for asking (I love when you ask me stuff, btw).
"Cute little story about six-year-old Artemis doing something clever" and it's about lil Artemis taking Butler out (well, it was the other way around, technically) to publically call out identity fraud LMAO
OHHH. I always did wonder what these symbols meant. I assumed they would be tackled in the other books since I haven't read them all. This is probably a cheeky nod by the editors/designers for cool people like @jasonball34 who have the brains to collect and connect all this information. Though, I did always assume these were like hieroglyphs that were meant to represent one word/idea at a time rather than a letter in the alphabet, like how "the book" can be written out literally or you can use the actual book symbol to save time. This probably was useful for fairies because they must've wrote about the book often.
"Read more" if you want to know about a very specific pet peeve of mine from the first book. Namely the Gnommish "title blocks" that appear before the start of any chapter text.
Misspelt "The" as "Teh" 😭 (this is the mildest one in the list) (and I'm pretty Jason did mention something about the letter E's positioning being changed confusingly across various books.)
These are the only ones spelt and formatted in a sensible manner, with "Translation" and "Siege" written in the old spiral pattern of the fairies before they switched to straight lines, and "Missing in Action" and "Ace in the Hole" written in proper straight lines (not shown here because Tumblr has a limit on the number of pictures in a post...)
The others...
If these are going in the classic spiral fashion then the middle one should be the first letter, and then we start reading anti-clockwise (I'm deducing this from the fact that both the correct ones go anti-clockwise,) in the ring surrounding it from the second letter onwards.
So, the third chapter's title is "Holly". The middle is H, then by moving to 'O' and going anti-clockwise we get... "Holyl." Going clockwise in this case won't work because we'd still get the same typo. I was so disappointed when I first translated it out of curiosity 😭.
Similar is the case for the titles "Mulch" and "Troll" where they give "Muchl"/"Mulhc" and "Trlol" respectively. Like bro.
"Abduction" apparently starts with the letter D and we just didn't realise.
These are just physically impossible to read lmao. Pissed me off slightly but I guess these are just small details that got glossed over.
