This whole situation in Dele was quite strange. Rarely did something of this magnitude happen in Aladonia; if a king could be murdered so plainly, what of any other royal in the land? Ram, admittedly, was likely not on anybody’s hit list, but as someone who was meant to be king, he couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of “what if?” about it. This could have been him, alas, in another life. A potentially better one than he lived now.
In any event, Ram sought out Owen after the official funeral service, looking to relate to him one-on-one. He wasn’t so good with words, especially not in this context, but what he lacked in tact, he made up for in earnestness.
“Prince Owen,” Ram begins, greeting the Delean royal. “My condolences to your father. I did not know him well, but in my brief experiences with him, he seemed to be quite the good man. I cannot imagine what you are feeling, but I know you will rise above it... you will be a good leader for your people. I cannot speak for Nok, but just know you’ve got our support however it is needed...”
