The VRC Oaks Club Luncheon, a purple-lit perfumed parallel universe squeezed into the gap between Cup and Oaks. More than 1500 guests, mostly fully-flocked, coiffed, hatted and highheeled women, jump out of their chairs (after a 6star repast) at the first rocky beats from the Palladium's stage. Today, Michelle Payne and Usain Bolt accompanied entree, Rob Mills sorted the warmup, and legend Marcia Hines lorded over the poshest mosh in Melbourne.
