rest in peace, OG Best Boy
if anything, it makes me feel a little better that my pets all passed away peacefully from old age. thistle was nearly four, pippy was four and a half, and crow was nearly 24 (half arab, yes, but he had been abandoned and starved at least 2-3 times in his life and had foundered twice before i adopted him).
wats were rescued from a hoarder who kept at least 50 in a crammed, waste-covered cage, and they lived the rest of their lives in a huge, three story cage that was made out of a bookshelf. so much fleece!
crow lived out the last years of his life as a pet, being groomed and doted on by little kids. he only lived in his stall at night or when the ground was icy/slippery and dangerous. otherwise at 5am he was turned out in a 5+ acre run with his best friend Charlie and other pones.
idk as sad as i am about them passing away, it makes me feel better when people reassure me that i gave them the best lives and care possible.
always take care of your pets and treasure them, people.
My dad is in a band and two of his most recent songs are SO FUCKING GOOD but they aren’t out yet so I can’t make anyone else listen to them
They’re practicing right now and I just have to sit here knowing I’m one of like 10 people maximum who have heard these songs
i like wild horses too
I have some fun facts about it!
It’s part of the concept EP Mr Christie’s Monday and represents his young adulthood in the 80s, each song represents a different stage of his life and era of music
It’s inspired by the people my dad knew in the punk scene of the 80s, and how he met many of them decades later when they had become completely different people, gotten “real jobs” and joined the status quo
The bass line is meant to imitate the sound of horses running
I fully believe there is no such thing as too much synth, he tried to prove me wrong by putting an excessive amount of synth on the song but as soon as I heard it I was like “this is the greatest thing you’ve ever written”
I need your help real quick!
My dad is currently in hospital, there isn’t much I can do but I want to cheer him up as much as possible because he’s pretty miserable
Music is his life and he’s currently unable to play guitar at all because of his injuries, so it would mean a lot if people would listen to his band
Shotgun Monkey and Wild Horses are my personal favourites <3
(It would also help a little with medical expenses, even though spotify doesn’t pay artists nearly enough)
I’m kind of obsessed with the characters from a punk song written by my dad so I’m just gonna pretend he’s famous enough for a fandom and post about them anyway
(So if y’all are interested in a concept EP about the end of the world that includes a classic punk style banger then go listen to Shotgun Monkey by Crowpony)
