@crucifys ⟶ “ he’s a prick—a giant cunt. ” jaw tight, teeth gritting together as she grunts. if there’s one thing she despises more than anything: it was entitled men, intimidated by powerful women who could take them down with the tip of their pinky. stella takes the glass from mellie’s fingers, placing it down next to her own. “ you deserve more. ” better than whatever that sorry excuse for human was, but stella knows herself, how she tears others down without so much as a disregard. but there was something about mellie, something that pulled her to the other in a way stella hadn’t found before. her hands are moving before her thoughts catch up, fingers come to delicately cup the woman’s face, coming to rise to her knees as she leans down. “ i’m going to kiss you, ” a pause as she slips her knee between mellie’s legs and leans down, sight fixated on the woman’s line of sight as stella closes the distance between them.
UNPROMPTED, always accepting.
fitz is exhausting. he’s the kind of person who drains the life out of you. that’s what she is: she’s drained. it feels like something she’s said before, or maybe thought before, one way or another? it’s a thought that’s occurred to her at least once. at first he’d been a means to an end: the grant family had an incredible image politically. or... they had at the time, now? god, fitz has shot that to hell, hasn’t he? he’d been elected because of defiance. he’d been re-elected because of... because of jerry ( god, how she misses him ).
and now he wants a divorce? how many times had she threatened to do the same, only to be convinced not to? at least she’s a senator. mellie has something going for her. a stepping stone on her own path to the oval. she’s also got an abundance of loneliness, but is there really anything new about that? mellie grant has been almost entirely alone since she’d married fitzgerald grant iii. just another reason to resent her father, isn’t it? and why shouldn’t she? he’ll only acknowledge her existence if it’s convenient for him — or if it improves his image somehow. just like everyone else, she’s in their life when they want to use her for their own gain. that’s all.
but a very few people are exceptions to that, something for which mellie’s eternally grateful. stella’s clearly one of them, she’s someone who’s kind to her simply because it’s what a person does, and that’s a breath of fresh air. she’s just finished ranting when words leave the other woman’s mouth with an amount of sheer vitriol that might be startling if not for the sheer amount of alcohol consumed, leaving her calm and something resembling content ( though there’s undoubtedly a moment of sheer annoyance at stella taking away her glass ).
❛ you deserve more ❜ they’re words she hears rarely, and every time she struggles to believe it. if she deserves more, why does life keep throwing the most painful of things her way? should any one person be forced to deal with all of this? evidently the answer is yes, and she’s that one person. that train of thought is halted entirely as she finds stella’s hand on her cheek. then she speaks again, and mellie’s heart races in her chest, breath comes easy for the first time in so long, “okay,” her voice is low, quiet, as if she doesn’t dare speak louder out of fear that it’ll somehow ruin this or change stella’s mind. god, it’s strange how all of eight words spoken in the span of the last several seconds can entirely shift her mood. mellie’s not circling the drain of despair — no, no, she’s feeling entirely... is elated the word? it very well may be, but that thought’s stolen from her as she locks eyes with stella and suddenly the other woman’s all she can see. impatience overtakes her and she gently grips the wrist of the hand resting on her face, closing the rest of the space between them, lips meeting stella’s gently, tentatively. and it feels right.
😘👁
send 😘 to kiss my muse.
SHE’S TAKEN OFF GUARD, steadying herself by placing a hand on stella’s waist. sudden display of affection was a surprise but a welcome one at that. there was no denying the t e n s i o n between them, maggie making her attraction obvious. but she didn’t expect the other to pull something like this. lips crash together, unable to hide the 𝚑𝚞𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚙𝚊𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗 any longer. hand on waist pulls her closer so that she can feel the warmth of body against her own, other hand finds itself tangled in golden locks.
god she needed more of this woman. pulling her gently as she guides her to lean against wall. hidden from view of window. the desire to throw her onto the bed was strong, she refrains purely for the fact accomplices on case were bound to walk in any minute. kissing slows, teeth nipping at lower lip as she pulls away. smirk is present on lips as she tucks a strand on stella’s hair behind ear.
❛❛ damn gibson, feel free to do that anytime. ❜❜ pivoting on heel she makes her way across room to case files, glancing back at stella for a moment. ❛❛ don’t get too comfortable in that getup of yours, it’ll be on the floor later. ❜❜
@crucifys said: “cal.” hands come to the woman’s hips, slowly wrapping round her waist to pull her flush against her own bare chest. stella nips at her ear, fingers travelling up her shirt. “come,” a pause, fingers popping open the buttons of her shirt. “take,” another pause, lips coming to callie’s neck, fingers scraping against bare skin. “a bath.” she almost grunts in the others ear, pulling herself back, hands still at callie’s hips.
callie’s been GLUED to this case file for what feels like forever. her court date is fast approaching and she feels a particular pressure to succeed here. leave it to stella to instantly banish all those thoughts from her head. she sucks in a ragged breath, biting her lip and leaning back into the blonde’s arms. ❝ MMM... well how could i say no to such a polite request ? ❞ a smirk as she lets stella guide her. ❝ i’ve never had a nickname before. at least... not a NICE one. it’s... cute. ❞

the morning sky is filled with nothing but hazy clouds. the bed is not his own, nor the bedspread that covers him, but he far from minds it. a shallow patch of sun nicely warms his feet, arms perched behind his head as he observes the lovely woman who he’d had the pleasure to spend the evening before with. christ’s sake, john. this is completely unprofessional. the protruding thought is lazily swatted away as her voice drifts across the room : she’d looked just as stunning last night at the met’s little party as she does bathed in a golden glow from the sunlight streaming in. 𝙳𝙾𝙽’𝚃 𝚂𝙰𝚈 𝚂𝙾𝙼𝙴𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝚂𝚃𝚄𝙿𝙸𝙳. john allows a small, warm smile to cross his features, slightly sitting up in bed & allowing the bedcovers to pool into his lap. “ has nobody ever looked at you like they actually enjoyed the one-night stand they’d just had with you? i can’t imagine why. ”

Naturally. Why else would she be here? It might be what True has been dropped here to do yes, but it still fails to make an impression. On her, that is. With each arrival, the status quo prevails. Status quo or whatever that bullshit is, that thing placed on her shoulders, that fucking cumbersome weight growing heavier and dragging her down like a blanket wrapped about your shoulders soaking up water to flirt with gravity. “Lucy let you in?” From the hallway can be heard a cavalcade of steps commingling with a volley of words strangled between whispers and exclamations, and the shadows, long, narrow, stretching under the door are moving in what looks like a sweeping stroke. The noises recede. Doors are slammed. What has briefly come to touch True’s face in benevolent caress is already vanishing.
“If you’ve come to have a nosy, you’re wasting your time. And mine.”
“Who said you could come in?”
it didn’t look like a crime scene, it looked like his second period english classroom with a few police officers outside. nothing out of the unusual for their school; what was unusual was the lack of students when he walked inside. instead of being greeted to his peers & hearing their relentless giggles (the usual routine for whenever fogell walked into a room), he was greeted with the whispers of police officers & detectives. fingers gesturing around the room, pointing in various directions of various pieces of evidence, the scent of freshly brewed coffee & the metallic scent of dried blood seeping through the room. his immediate reaction: he gulps & hears the words moments after, his head turning in her direction.
❛ there wasn’t any ... yellow tape? isn’t there supposed to be crime scene tape... this is a crime scene, right? i mean, that’s a dead body right behind you. ❜ an index finger is pointed behind her, a detective’s camera flashing as they snap another picture of her decaying face. yeah, this is a crime scene; i shouldn’t be here. ❛ oh my god, that’s an actual dead body — a dead person. ❜ without warning, he can feel the wave beginning to form inside his stomach; it doesn’t take but two seconds before he’s hunched over, his tuna fish sandwich lunch spewing out from his lips like a cascading waterfall.
