my part of a trade with @skittlecanons!! it involves crucy and clucky and secret relationships, and those are my three fave things. i hope it’s alright and you enjoy, bby!
A fro-yo shop wasn't the ideal place for a romantic date, which made it the perfect spot. At least that was the thought.
"Oh, shit." Lucy whispers, ducking her head down, hoping in vain that the large plastic pink fro-yo cup would disguise her. "Clyde and Lucky are here. Craig, don't just sit there. You're drawing attention!"
"You're the one drawing attention." Craig points out dryly. "I'm just sitting here. Like a normal person, enjoying ice cream's ugly cousin."
Lucy eyes her him for a moment, before sitting up, keeping her shoulders slouched slightly. "Asshole."
While it was no secret to them that they were dating, it was a secret to everyone else. It just wasn't something they wanted spread around, at least not yet. People had a way of twisting the most simple things like a fresh and new relationship into something ridiculous, just to satisfy their gossip line. It was better, for now, just to keep it under wraps...even from friends.
Across the shop, Clyde's line of gaze fell on Craig and Lucy. His eyes widening for a moment, before he spun around to Lucky, blocking her away.
"Lucks, don't look now. But Craig and Lucy, they're here too." He whispers, two tones below shouting. Lucky peeks around her boyfriend's broad frame and winces.
The same guilt that gnawed at Lucy, had the same bite on Lucky.
She had yet to tell Lucy, or anyone that she and Clyde were a couple with the same concern for the twisted gossip they could face.
"Just act normal, Sugar. Ya know casual." Lucky says much more quietly.
"Besides, frozen yogurt is a treat everyone likes."
"I don't like it." Clyde points out, filling his cup with chocolate pieces and other candy toppers. Lucky blows out a huff and shakes her head.
"Act casual." She repeats.
When Clyde and Lucky finish paying for their treats, Lucy can't help but wave them over. It's almost like a reflex. Craig mumbles something like 'way to not draw attention, Luce', and she only replies by batting the toe of her sneaker to his shin.
"Charms! Clydester!" Lucy calls, ignoring the roll of Craig's eyes. "Didn't take you for a fro-yo man."
"I'm not." Clyde insists, showing his cup of candy. Lucky smiles, dropping into the seat next to Lucy.
"I thought it'd be a nice way to congratulate him on getting a B in History and this is the thanks I get. Anyway what brings y'all around here?" Lucky asks, swirling her fro-yo around. Craig fishes out his phone, wordlessly typing against the screen.
"Uhh." Lucy begins. Hoping a believable reason would come to her. Clyde's phone buzzes against the table top. "Just...pff, celebrating the past games we both had. I know we got our asses handed to us, that's beside the point." Lucy finally answers.
"Dude, AS IF." Clyde suddenly bellows. His voice carries impressively through the small fro-yo shop, and if it hadn't been for Stacey Q's Two of Hearts playing on the radio, an odd sort of silence would've fell over the place.
Craig lifts a brow, almost challenging at Clyde. Only after the color returns to Lucky's face- a bright red blush, she speaks up "Ya alright there, Clyde?"
"He-" Clyde starts but stops himself, clearing his throat. "Yeah. I'm alright." His thumbs fumble quickly over the keyboard of his phone, his mouth silently forming the word 'fucker'
Craig's phone vibrates, followed by a very quiet snort.
Lucy and Lucky both knew what was coming. Most likely a trip to the 24 hour clinic. While they had their relationships under wraps- something they hoped to finally share sooner or later. It was no secret the way Craig and Clyde challenged one another. In the most ridiculous things possible. Both Craig and Clyde declared its what drew the girls to them.
Well, at least they like to think so.
