With a loud, drawn-out sigh, Adam expressed his displeasure that it had started to rain, and he was even more unhappy that the intensity of the rain was increasing too quickly. The man raised his coat collar, quickening his pace. He was passing one of the side alleys when the sound of a trash can tipping over caught his attention. A moment later, he heard a quiet, bitter meow, and a cat emerged from between the plastic bags and papers. Jensen was not very familiar with animals, but in his estimation, it was rather young. He wanted to leave now, but the animal came up and rubbed against his legs. It was skinny and frozen making it hard for the Chief of Security to just leave it. Adam bent down and took the cat in his arms, then covered it with a piece of his coat.
