it’s so fun ! i taught myself a few months ago on some swatches but finally had the motivation to pick up an actual project (corvus scarf on ravelry if anyone is interested), and i’m really enjoying it a lot more than i thought i would?? it’s hard to tell how much you’ll actually like something on a swatch vs an actual project, and i tend to do better w a big project than a small one or a swatch, it turns out, even if it takes me months to actually decide to dedicate myself to a project
it’s fairly slow going bc i haven’t sat down and dedicated a ton of time every day to it, so i’m only ehhhhh in the range of 1/3 of the way through despite starting it about two weeks ago, but it’s actually really nice to have a big project to work a bit on each day and to know that’s what i have to work on and not have to scramble looking for little projects that i’m not that excited about to entertain me
i’m also a thrower and not a picker so i don’t hold the yarn in two hands and instead do a lot of picking it up and putting it down, which just makes the whole process take a lot longer than it might for other people, but this works for me and my brain truly Cannot process picking (i’ve tried!! i really have!! i Don’t get it) so it’s not too much of a bother tbh
