Since whatever is going on between them is platonic, do you see one or the other entering a romantic relation with someone else?

I'm kind of busy so I haven't been able to draw or make a part 2 yet
BUT here are some loose headcanons to foreshadow the trajectory of their dynamic pulled straight from my notes
Two short queers walk into a bar

Me and hg when we're enemies AND lovers
Cruz didn't manage to take the title from Storm in her first season, making just a few too many rookie mistakes, but fret not she becomes an even bigger threat to Jackson her second season.
And it’s during this season (in which they’re evenly matched in skill, more or less) when their off-track bond and on-track rivalry start to seep into each other
They're type of competitors to trip the other on their foot or kick them in the shins in the wild
Just childish gimmicks to show they truly adore each other but also relish in the other's torment
Use their closeness (the sheer amount of information they have on the other— knowing the other like the backs of their hands) to play mindgames against each other on the track
Lived together at a certain point
Not like officially. More like they infiltrated each other’s homes and are always together
Throughout the duration of it all, they consider themselves in an 'exclusive relationship' despite it not being romantic. However:
Post-mindgames era— they decided they weren’t good for each other
It's hard to have your favorite person be endlessly cruel to you
This is like their break up arc
(This is how I make Cruznat—one of THE ships EVER— and StormDanny canon at the SAME TIME as whatever this is)
Funny enough, this is the era when Cruz and Storm start publicly referring to each other as “friends”.
They are friends now. And that's is the furthest apart they’ve been.
TL:DR Storm + Cruz are crazy for each other but like not in a normal way
I also haven't decided if they're endgame yet so keep your ears peeled I suppose..
One of the things I love about the Cars fandom is that there is no shipping wars. Most people ship all the canon ships like Sally/Lightning or Flo/Ramon etc and ships that people have don't split any of these canon pairings up like Cruz/Natalie or Sarge/Fillmore etc. Some people ship Lighting/Francesco or Holley/Finn etc but I've never heard anyone disrespect anyone's ship or get into any arguments. Everyone is really respectful and nice. It's one of the reasons I love being in this fandom. ❤️
Since y'all forgot: Natalie's GAY moment is when she repeats something the commentators say, like "quite the win" but Nat puts extra emphasis into it and leans in and stares at Cruz unblinkingly from afar and does something with her lip and it was massively gay
