I was tagged by @serricoj! Rules: go to page 7 of a WIP, skip to the 7th line, share 7 lines (or however much you want) and tag 7 more writers to continue the challenge. I’m tagging you. Consider yourself tagged.
I started writing this a few years ago and have tens and thousands of words and basically haven’t touched it in approximately a million years:
He sits next to Jared without really listening to his commentary because anyone can see clear as day what's happening. Osric takes the mound, and Jensen still can't quite believe what he's done. It ends 5-0 Giants, and sure, it's the Rockies, but a win's a win and the rest of the country starts learning Jensen's name too.
After this win, still dazed by the impossibility of it all, he gets lights and cameras shoved in his face en route to the lockers. Everyone wants to get a sound bite from San Francisco's rookie starter, and for a few seconds he is stunned mute. Jensen's teammates tumble past him in a riot of color and sound, and he wants so badly to be with them instead of trapped here with all these journalists asking him questions faster than he can think.
An arm materializes out of nowhere and drapes over his shoulders, and it's Misha. He leans on Jensen with his reporter-ready smile on and he says, "As you can see, he got signed to this team for his sparkling conversation."
Their laughter jolts Jensen from his stupor, and he manages to string together words to make coherent sentences. Misha pats him on the back then rubs his shoulder encouragingly before receding into the crowd.
