Dox was taking a walk through his neighborhood, a rare occurrence considering he rarely left his desk in his apartment. His roommate insisted he get some fresh air. Feeling rather hungry, he decided to head into the nearby Chinese place to get some house lo mein. The line in front of the register was awfully long, so he glanced around for a place to sit and get waited on rather than wait in the queue ( lazy bastard. ) That’s when he spotted a rather anxious looking young lady, very pretty, who was continuously checking her phone. It was obvious she was waiting on someone, and if the waitress’s attitude was any indication, she’d been waiting there a while━and other customers were beginning to take notice. The most logical choice for Dox was to join her. Keep her company, get some food... two birds. He slid into the booth across from her with a ( fake ) apologetic smile. “Sorry babe, traffic was awful. You weren’t waiting too long, were you??” His voice was loud enough for the judgmental patrons to hear, and he shot a wink her way, hoping she’d catch on.
