He’s not strong enough. He can’t do it!!

They’d been blown off the side of the cliff. He’d caught Mei’s hand, keeping her from plummeting into the crashing waves beneath them. He blames himself. Hadn’t seen the trap! Hadn’t seen it coming!! The climatologist is sobbing, holding on for dear life. 

No one can hear them screaming for help. The sound of gunfire is far too loud. 

The metal of his prosthetic is hot. Searingly painful. Junkrat could feel it burning the skin where it was attached. Mei’s lucky she can’t feel it. But she certainly knows the hand she’s holding onto is getting wet with sweat. Junkrat’s been holding the both of them up for awhile.

She’s slipping.

“No! Mei! C’mon try ta hold on!!” Junkrat’s fighting to maintain the grip. He’s not so strong. Too skinny. He tries to hoist the two of them up but falls short. Too short. Barely moved an inch upward. 

“Jamie!!”

And then the weight is gone.

Junkrat didn’t know why he felt this way, it confused him. He had never been sick before, not that he could remember anyway. His body temperature was changing from boiling hot one minute, to freezing cold the next and it was the later that he was feeling right now.

He laid in his bed, blankets piled on top of him. His prosthetics sitting next to the bed. He cuddle down into the blankets, only the top of his hair peeking out from the top. The thought of food made him want to chunda, so when the Chinese girl came in with a bowl of food, he hide under the blankets not wanting anything.
